The Nordisk Panorama The documentary and short film festival will be one of the biggest conferences held in Oulu this year. Nearly 800 film professionals are expected to attend the event which taken place next September.
Helena Pikkarainen, coordinator at the Congress Oulu agency, says that at least nine international conferences will be held in Oulu this year. Conference topics include linguistics, hand surgery and the study of water systems among other things. In addition Oulu will host a multidisciplinary seminar on life and death.
The main event this year is going to be the Finnish National Business Fair (Valtakunnalliset Yrittäjäpäivät), which is estimated to draw 2 000 entrepreneurs from all across Finland and will be held in October. The weekend-long event will be held at Club Teatria and in Ouluhalli.
