The winning idea for the competition organized by the Tar Valley Junior Chamber to design stalls for next year’s Oulu Christmas Market was “Glowing Cubes – Isot Jääkuutiot”.
The aim was to design a smart and elegant setting which the organizers of the Tiernatori Christmas Market could adapt for other events during the year. The winning concept was designed by Juho Lonkila and Heikki Savirinne, both architecture students at the University of Oulu. Five design ideas were submitted to the competition.
The Tiernatori Christmas Market is said to be the northernmost Christmas market in the world. The event is organized by the Tar Valley Junior Chamber and it will run December 7– 23 at the Oulu market square.
The aim of the event is creating an entertaining sales event for local residents, tourists and companies as well as spreading Christmas cheer.
